This series, entitled Factory Food seeks to explore the disconnect between what our mind deems to be edible and inappropriate for consumption. Every meal, most of us allow flavors and colors birthed in a laboratory to enter our cells, creating metabolic confusion and an array of metabolic disorders. This series plays off this idea more forthright, by creating a visual divide between the painting we see in front of us and the mind’s contemplation of its edible nature.

The ingredients of each work, also birthed in a laboratory follows a different journey, but ends up before us mirroring processed ingredients that travel the systems of our body. The series explores what aspect of the visual process charges such vastly different creation to degradation stories for each piece and its edible counterpart. The experience challenges whether it is the physical location of the replicas or the context of observation that preclude the neurological response known as hunger.
